The Nazi party came to power in Germany on 30 January 1933.

By the end of the war nearly 20,000 camps of various sizes came up.

Jews brought at the camps were divided into those who were capable to work and those not. The second lot is sent to gas chambers, whereas those able to work had to work in industries and were executed if they wore out.

There were 22 main concentration camps.

Hitler first became an anti-Semite in Vienna as stated in his autobiography “Mein Kampf.”

The Auschwitz complex included 3 camps including Auschwitz, Birkenau and Monowitz.

There was a process of selection at the death camp. Small children, pregnant women, sick and old were directly sent to gas chambers.

Nazis during the Holocaust looted everything they found from the victims including rings, watches etc.

At Auschwitz, thousands of prisoners were sterilized using radiation.

The first mass murder under Nazi rule occurred at the Owinski psychiatric hospital near Poznan on November 15, 1939. Polish mental patients were killed using carbon monoxide.
