Disney theme park touched dizzying success and investment increased tenfold.

After opening Disneyland, Walt started planning for another theme park and Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow in Florida.

Disney could not see its completion and in 1966 he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He succumbed to the disease on December 15, 1966.

Disney was cremated and his remains have been interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles

The unfinished work of the park was completed by Walt Disney’s brother Roy and the park opened under the name of Walt Disney World.

Disneyland branched out globally and has parks in Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai. A similar theme park, California Adventure also opened in 2001.
