During hibernation, a bear does not defecate. Its body recycles body wastes into protein.

The world’s most common bear species is the American black bear.

When bears mate, the eggs in the females body are fertilized but do not implant in her uterus and begin developing for several months.

Most bears are born without fur. Polar bears and panda are the only ones born with thin white fur.

Bears are extraordinary intelligent animals. They have superior navigation skill, good memories, large brain to body ratio and they even use tools to play as well as to hunt.

Bears love their family. They will risk their lives and even fight to death to protect its cub or sibling from danger.

There are eight species of bear and they are found throughout the world.

One can find carnivores, herbivorous and omnivorous bears. Polar bear is carnivorous, Panda bear is herbivorous and the rest of the species are omnivorous.

Bears though have heavy and big body, they are good at running, climbing and swimming.

Bears are mostly shy and are easily frightened of humans.
